S100 genes include at least 13 members which arelocated as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein may have atumor suppressor function. Chromosomal rearrangements and alteredexpressionS100A2抗体 of this gene have been implicated in breast cancer. Function: May act as a modulator against excess calciumaccumulation in normal human mammary epithelial cells. May alsoplay a role in suppressing tumor cell growth. Subunit: Homodimer. Interacts with FKBP4. Tissue Specificity: A subset of epithelial cells including normalhuman mammary epithelial cells and keratinocytes.
